When dawn breaks over the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the Western Maryland hamlet of Smithsburg, the aroma of freshly baking croissants and sweet rolls, laced with the tang of cinnamon and spices, welcomes the new day.

Since 1980, the DeHaan family has owned and operated Hadley Farms Bakery in this idyllic small town.
 

Three generations of the DeHaan family work with nearly 80 dedicated employees to produce a full-service line of bakery products for the food service, fundraising and retail markets.
 

Achieving sales in excess of 9 million dollars annually, Hadley Farms remains relatively small in the baking industry, allowing us to handle accounts of all sizes in a personal yet professional manner. Our research and development department works in partnership with our customers to meet their specific needs. New products, customized packaging and specialized labeling are among the personalized services Hadley Farms provides.
 

Determination, hard work, flexibility and the willingness to meet the demands of an ever-changing market have earned Hadley Farms high standing and respect within the industry.

Hadley Farms has maintained an excellent safety record in the food industry. Our production facility operates under the HACCP program and the HACCP plan is constantly reviewed to insure compliance.

Hadley Farms holds a Tablet K Certificate in Kosher Products.

Hadley Farms Bakery helps nonprofits raise money

About four years ago, we inaugurated a new service -- supplying our baked goods to nonprofit organizations for fundraising purposes.  We have two plans that can be used to raise funds.  Each plan provides up to a 50 percent profit which can make a nice contribution to the bottom line of your organization, especially in these tight economic times. You may find more information on these two plans by visiting our Group Fundraising and Plan Detail pages.

Two lines of products

Our individually wrapped lines primarily serve schools and airlines.  Our gourmet line is oriented to our fundraising program.

Historical Fact

Hadley Farms Bakery was named after the Hadley Farms Dairy in Gaithersburg, MD which Frank DeHaan and his father, Charles, owned and managed.  The original dairy farm was purchased from Dr. Hadley, Frank's mentor, in 1958.
